For mothers

“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” — Robert Browning

THERE'S a mama bunny living in our back yard with a nest of babies. Today when Paul took Shiva, our beautiful, adventurous Maine Coon, outside for a walk-about, he watched mama bunny skillfully divert Shiva by advertising herself as prey, successfully luring danger away from the nest.

(FYI: No worries; Shiva is actually friends with the bunnies, and we supervise her when she's outside, especially so when there are baby anythings around.)

It seemed apropos for today, May 10, which is Mother's Day here in the United States

To all the mothers in the world as well as the aunts, sisters and devoted friends who are fill-in, substitute and second moms — happy Mother's Day. And to those mothers who have lost children, I send my deepest, heartfelt sympathy. I can't think of anything more painful to endure than losing a child no matter what age.

May 9, the day before Mother's Day: Paul's mom and me.
She's wearing the new shirt we got her; we also bought her a pull-over sweater to go with it.

  2. Liz, you are always so generous to me!!!! Thank you.
